Delicious almond milk is great on its own or as a base for rich smoothies.
This is a basic drink that will not only save you money, but ensure you aren’t getting the additives that come in commercial almond milks. You can make it to your own liking by experimenting with adding other nuts or seeds to the almonds, for example adding some cashews is good for a creamier milk. For variety you can add vanilla, cinnamon, sweeteners and other flavours.
1 cup of raw, organic almonds
4 cups pure, filtered water for blending, plus enough for soaking
1/2 tsp salt of your choice
If pressed for time, you can simply blend nut butters, such as Artisana Organics Raw Almond Butter, in a blender with water. Add the water slowly and taste test to get the consistency you like.
